Privacy Policy

The short version: Latch has no account and no server-side profile of you. The apps you choose to lock never leave your device. The only data we collect is anonymous, aggregate product analytics — and none of it is linked to your identity.

What we collect

Anonymous product analytics via TelemetryDeck: privacy-first, aggregate usage and event data (for example, that a latch was created or a paywall was shown) tied only to a salted, one-way-hashed anonymous identifier. This contains no name, email, account, or advertising identifier (no IDFA/GAID). If no analytics key is configured in a given build, nothing is transmitted at all.

What stays on your device / what we do NOT collect

The apps you lock — on iOS these are opaque Screen Time tokens; on Android they are package names. Either way, your selection is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.
No account or login. We do not ask for, create, or store any personal profile.
No contacts, location, photos, messages, or browsing history.
No advertising, no third-party ad trackers, no sale of data.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and managed through RevenueCat, which tells the app whether your Pro entitlement is active. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies apply to the payment itself.

Data retention

Anonymous analytics are retained in aggregate by TelemetryDeck under their retention terms. Because the data is not linked to you, there is no personal profile to access or delete. Uninstalling the app removes all local data (your latches and settings) from your device.

Store privacy labels

Consistent with this policy, Latch reports on the App Store as "Data Not Linked to You" and, if any data type is declared, only anonymous "Product Interaction / Usage Data." On Google Play's Data Safety form, data is not linked to the user and not shared.

Children

Latch is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect any data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page.
